I am now living in my beautiful new house. :) It is empty except for my luggage, the boxes I mailed to myself, and a borrowed air mattress, but I am living in it. My household goods (furniture and stuff) will be delivered on Tuesday and Thursday this coming week. It's kind of nice to have some time to decide where I am going to put things, because there are a lot of options when you expand from a 1-bedroom apt to a 3-bedroom house.
The landlords left me a lot of nice things, like a washer and dryer, bathroom stuff like cleaning supplies and toilet paper, decorative light fixtures, some mirrors and paintings on the walls. I like having some things to base my decorating scheme on, because I am sort of clueless in that area, but I would like this house to look a little nicer than my previous apt's "dorm-room" look. (Never fear, Penn State fans, I think I am going to make my computer room all blue and white for a "Penn State room"!) I really like the landlords, they are both teachers and have two cute little boys, and they have been really helpful and nice to me in this process. The wife's name is Jo and she is a runner too, so she gave me a lot of great suggestions for running in the area. :)
I tried to explore Downham Market a little this morning, but I only made it as far as the market and the town information center before I was carrying so much in plastic bags that it was cutting off the circulation in my fingers and I decided to go home. The info center was a gold mine of free tour books and magazines! I can't wait to read them and plan more adventures. Tomorrow I am going to church at the one on my street, even though it is Church of England and I may not know exactly what is going on... I think they'll let me in, hehe. It is a beautiful church on the outside and it will be cool to go inside and see what the service is like. I'm curious. Then in the afternoon, I'm going to explore Ely with my friend Cassie from OCF, and I will finally see the cathedral everyone is talking about. Then I'll have some pictures to post!
